NFL Betting – Can A Team Running The Wildcat Win The Super Bowl?

Those following NHL scores will see their teams run a number of different schemes throughout the year, but in the NFL, schemes are everything and the Wildcat has risen in popularity in recent years. But you have to wonder, can a team that runs the Wildcat regularly really win the Super Bowl?

Teams who are considering the New York Jets’ odds at their best online sportsbook will have to answer this question as they may look to run two distinctly different offenses, a normal pro-style attack with Mark Sanchez and one that looks more like the Wildcat with Tim Tebow, who they picked up from Denver in the offseason. But this could cause a problem with the Jets and with any NFL team, especially the linemen who have to learn how to block for two different quarterbacks. The battle up front is the most underrated aspect in figuring out a team’s chances to win, and going between these two offenses can confuse a lot of players.

You can get away with running the Wildcat in college, where they can be a large gulf in talent between teams, but in the NFL, the defenses are so much faster and can cover more ground that the Wildcat will work in spurts, but eventually the coordinators and players will figure it out. Also, the NFL is geared more toward the passing game now, so it’s more important to have a good aerial attack as opposed to a rushing game. Stay away from Wildcat-heavy teams when you bet on sports this fall.
