Super Bowl Odds Favor AFC

The Super Bowl odds have been jumping around with the return of Brett Favre and Michael Vick. Both of the odds for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings have jumped up a little bit but the two powerhouses in the AFC are still favored.

The New England Patriots are the Super Bowl favorites and with Tom Brady back and looking sharp, it’s hard to argue with them. They have gotten younger on defense and even more explosive on offense, which means they will be tough to beat at any point.

The reigning Champions Pittsburgh Steelers could give them the biggest run for their money, though.

The Steelers endured the NFL’s toughest schedule last year and return virtually the same roster intact. With another year of chemistry from their offensive line, growth from a stout defense and a lighter schedule, the Steelers will again be tough to beat.

The San Diego Chargers are next in line and they should have an easy path to the playoffs considering how weak the AFC West is. They’ve had injury concerns over the past couple of seasons but with the emergence of Philip Rivers last year, the Chargers should be a real Super Bowl threat this year.

In the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles lead the way on the Super Bowl odds even though they’ve endured a number of key losses on defense. Lito Sheppard, Stewart Bradley and Brian Dawkins are gone but with the addition of Vick, the Eagles are a popular pick.

The NFC looks more open than the AFC but when it comes to the Super Bowl odds, it’s hard to bet against the Patriots at this point. They are the most complete team in the league.
