Why the Saints will win the NFC this weekend

You can still get good 2010 Super Bowl odds on New Orleans, who came alive last week after some late-season struggles. Here’s why you should take them at home this weekend in the NFC championship game against Minnesota.

Vikings vs Saints betting – Sunday, 6:40 PM ET

The Vikings were a force last week in a 34-3 whipping of Dallas, but that was at the Metrodome, where they finished with a 9-0 record. They lost their final three road games of the season at Arizona (who the Saints destroyed last week 45-14), Carolina and Chicago, and Brett Favre wasn’t as good as he was at home with a passer rating of 86.5 away from the Metrodome. He’ll be aided by the fact that this game will be played in a dome, but unlike last week, he won’t have the crowd behind him. The fans at the Superdome are arguably louder than the Metrodome, and we all saw how the Cowboys and Tony Romo essentially gave up when the crowd got into the game. Combine that with a struggling Adrian Peterson, who the Vikings need to come up big to win on the road, and you’re looking at a win for the Saints, who are 3.5-point favorites in your sportsbook.

US sportsbook odds (US sportsbook reviews): Saints -3.5
